Troubled teenThe term “troubled teen” refers to students whose behavior, self efficacy, maturation and development has begun to cause difficulties in and/or out of school, in the home and to his or her future.  Children struggle for a number of reasons and in many ways. There are schools and programs whose missions are dedicated to helping these students and their families. Some are based on punitive measures while others implement a more therapeutic approach. Safety is our primary concern as parents and educators and our work is to help families select the SAFEST, most appropriate setting for their children. The internet helps give parents a general idea of the school as it wants to be seen; we are able to help parents discern which schools actually carry their missions through successfully so that the students and families are helped.
